About Public Links

Public Links are a free and easy way to share your dashboards with a larger, public audience - up to 1000 viewers at a time. These links are indexed and can be found via search engines. When you make a dashboard public, it can be viewed or shared with anyone who has Internet access. Klipfolio may showcase the 'best' publicly available dashboards from time-to-time on our corporate web site.

How do I publish my dashboard as a Public Link?

To take advantage of Public Links, you need to have admin privileges or a role with the ability to publish links. Then:

  1. Go the dashboard that you want to publish.
  2. Select the gear icon on the dashboard.
  3. Select Share, then Publish link to dashboard from the menu.
  4. In the Publish link to Dashboard screen, click the Public Dashboard option in the visibility settings.
  5. In the Dashboard Name field, enter the name you want to use for the dashboard.
  6. Select either the Light or Dark theme.
  7. Click Publish Link when you’re done. The Link Published screen with the shareable link appears. Copy this link to share it. (You can always find this link again by clicking on the gear icon and selecting Manage published links to Dashboard from the menu or from the Usage Dashboard in your account settings.)

About Private Links

Private Links allow you to publish dashboards (with or without a password) as a shareable link. A private Link supports up to 100 concurrent connections (either individuals or TVs).

How do I buy Private Links?

When you buy this option, you have the ability to publish as many links as are available with your plan. Each Dashboard is viewable by 100 concurrent viewers. To buy Private Links, go to your plan page:

If you are already a customer, click Account (link on the top right) > Company dashboard > Plan and update your plan as needed. Click Update Plan at the bottom of the screen when you are done.

How do I publish my dashboard as a Private Link?

You must purchase Private Links and you also require the Publish Dashboards permission (granted to admins by default) to publish a link to your Dashboard.

  1. Select the gear icon on the Dashboard.
  2. Select Share, then Publish link to dashboard from the menu.
  3. In the Publish link to Dashboard screen, click the Public Dashboard option in the visibility settings.
  4. In the Dashboard Name, enter the name you want to use for the dashboard.
  5. Select either the Light or Dark theme.
  6. For Visible to, select who can see this dashboard.
  7. Click IP Range, If IP Range Restrictions are set for your account.
  8. Click Social, if you want to include links for sharing the dashboard on social media.
  9. Click Publish Link when you’re done. The Link Published screen with the shareable link will appear. Copy this link in order to share with your organization. (You can always find this link again by managing published links to this Dashboard or from the Usage Dashboard in your account settings.)

Managing Links

There are two ways you can manage Links:

  1. Click the Dashboard’s gear menu and select Manage published links to dashboards from the list. The properties window for this Dashboard is displayed and allows you to edit, view, disable or delete published links for this Dashboard.
  2. Go to the Usage dashboard for your Account: click Account (link on the top right) > Usage. You require the View account usage permission (replaces former View event log permission and by default is granted to the Admin role) to manage all published links for your account. All Published Links will be listed in the Published Links section of the Usage menu when you are looking at your Account settings.
