When modifying the data parameter in the Google Analytics URL, some users have received the following error message after they try to retrieve the data source.

  • Unable to parse XML response: Error on line 1 of document : Content is not allowed in prolog. Nested exception: Content is not allowed in prolog.

The data parameters are case sensitive, and any errors introduced into the URL will cause this error. Here is a list of accepted data parameters:

  • {date.today} – returns the current date
  • {date.yesterday} – returns the current date – 1
  • {date.startOfMonth – returns the start of the current month
  • {date.endOfMonth – returns the end of the current month
  • {date.lastStartOfMonth} – returns the start of the last month
  • {date.lastEndOfMonth} – returns the end of the last month
  • {date.last7Days} – returns the date 7 days ago
  • {date.last30Days} – return the date 30 days ago
  • {date.last60Days} – return the date 60 days ago
